Trauma Therapy
Trauma can enter our lives in many ways. Trauma can come in the form of abuse or neglect, natural disasters, accidental injuries, or any other life event that causes an adverse distressing effect. The Kraft Group is one of the best counseling group practices in the area for trauma recovery. Using a strength based and trauma-informed lens, The Kraft Group therapists create individualized approaches to help you or your loved one recover from traumatic experiences.
How Does Trauma Therapy help?
There are many approaches to trauma therapy and PTSD treatment. At The Kraft Group we offer a wide variety of trauma treatments because no two people experience trauma the same way. Trauma therapy helps people suffering with PTSD or other trauma related disorders, because it provides a healthy, safe place to reprocess traumatic experiences. As a result of reprocessing trauma, you will find over time the trauma has less and less power over you. The Kraft Group therapists offers compassionate individual counseling and group therapy for trauma and PTSD treatment.
In addition to traditional individual and group therapy, The Kraft Group has highly trained trauma therapists who specialize in providing specific evidenced-based trauma treatments, such as Brainspotting. Brainspotting is a brain-based therapy, derived from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), that utilizes the visual field to help access unprocessed trauma in the sub-cortical brain. Brainspotting is a highly effective form of psychotherapy that utilizes components from a variety of treatment modalities. These therapeutic elements are then combined with the bilateral stimulation techniques such as rapid eye movements. This process is believed to be so successful because of its ability to stimulate the brain’s Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) system.
Additionally, TF-CBT, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is an evidenced based treatment approach to working with children and adolescents who have been exposed to or are victims of childhood trauma, natural disasters, or any life event that causes distress for a child. TF-CBT draws from and utilizes components from several treatment perspectives including Family Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Interventions. TF-CBT works closely with both the child and the parent in counseling so the family can heal, grow, and move forward together.
